I was diagnosed with an enlarged prostate in January 2024 and went through 10.5 hours of absolute agony before getting to ER at 4am and there, had a catheter installed and, almost immediately, I got relief when my bladder emptied. Ahhhh what a relief ! But, from then until 16 April, I had this awful catheter with a leg bag. As the bag fills, it naturally becomes heavier and pulls on the catheter tube, which pulls on the penis and is quite painful and extremely uncomfortable. (imagine sandpaper in your underpants rubbing against your penis) So, I’d had this for 3 months when I came across the catheter valve. What a game changer this little gem is ! I've only had it for three days, but I can assuredly say that this catheter valve is so much more comfortable than a leg bag. It has really made a big difference to me. In fact, quite often I feel as if it's almost not there. With no leg bag to fill and pull on the penis, and no long cumbersome tube to dangle about inside my pants, and no velcro straps that always slide down the leg, the catheter valve gets full marks from me. Before, I honestly felt quite lousy all day as a foreign object inside the body definitely has an adverse effect on your well being, but with the catheter valve, I'm in much brighter spirits both physically and mentally. Can you develop a blind persons version, severely sight impaired. High contrasting colours, a positive lever. A definite top and bottom so you as a blind person knows which way it is installed re flow. It’s fine but these are issues a user is encountering who is blind. Thank you all the same.

Causes more bladder spasms as need to empty bladder 3/4 times a day. Gave up on using them. Additionally have to attach a night bag every evening, increasing chances on infection. So best avoided. Flawed idea. Should have had feedback from patients before launching.

I was really looking forward to trying this as the straps irritate my skin, but I was very disappointed because it came off after a few hours.

Is there a free trial of this devise.As it's looks great.And one thing I hate about mine is the pulling especially when at night while losing and Turing.

I'm jn Australia and recently purchased the stand which I'm happy with. The only problem I've had acouple of times has been my own fault. I attached the bag and forgot to press the clip to close at bottom of bag. It would be good of there was a suitable enough tray to place under the stand to catch urine when valve is no closed, or some other sort of accident. I've been putting thick towel underneath it but looking for a suitable plastic dish.

It keeps pulling off my catheter, is there anything you can suggest to mitigate this?

WOW.... even the "animation" they show a female nurse, doing this to the male patient. I guess this was not only to de-sensitise the idea that the overwhelming majority of men who have to undergo this procedure WILL HAVE a female doing it, but he will not be asked which gender he prefers either. Standard protocol, of Double standards.

I’ve just got this from Amazon UK - think it was the last one. It’s better than other stands that I tried in the last 20 years. I bought it mainly for the plastic privacy shield for when carers are assisting. I like the fact you don’t need to open this each time as there is plenty of gap to lift the bag through. I’d redesign is the bed hook. It’s too narrow and fits too neatly on my hospital bed. It’s too narrow to fit on my wheelchair arm rest which is a nuisance if you want to carry it during the night on your wheelchair and end up having to rest it on your lap which is awkward. I’d also add the the hooks for hanging the bag could be stronger (The Bard one has better hooks). Nevertheless, I’m hoping this will last me many years.

I’d like to see these available in skin colour and black.
